When it was over $15/oz the U.S. mint was having trouble finding enough suppliers to mint 2008 silver eagles. While the price of silver is down now, I don't imagine those with large supplies are eager to sell. So is it a great buying opportunity to grab some silver right now? Will silver jump back to $15 or more once the economy stabilizes?

As with everything else in socialist Europe, the premiums and prices are ridiculous and every law is in place to stop the ordinary joe from making a buck. Here, they would just say 'it's a collectors piece, the price of gold, silver, platinum just doesn't come into it'..sigh.

Will silver jump back to $15 or more once the economy stabilizes? Here we are just 11 days short of one year since I asked about the value of silver. It's now back at over $16 per ounce. So I guess it would have been a great buy at $10/oz.

Of course I was just guessing and I did not do any research to learn as to why it's risen so much in the last year. Gold is about to break $1400/oz and now Silver is getting pretty close to $30/oz. It should be interesting.
