Good day boy's and girl's.
I'm new here have a few coin's mostly from South Africa.

But i found this coin, can anybody tell me something about it. Don't know if its a medalion or coin etc.

Hi there.

That coin looks like Kingdom of Italy, but M is the mintmark for Milan so it could have been the Italian state of Lombardy...but a quick check on Wiki says Kingdom of Italy started in 1861..so Italy 1863 1 Lire, minted in Milan...I think!

kaija is right. 83.5% silver. Not a bad looking coin.

Turin and Naples also minted this coin using mint marks T and N respectively.

I honestly don't know what it means. The BN could mean "Banca nazionale" which would make sense since states were still minting their own coins at the same time. It would help differentiate.
