Update from Nicholas
Greetings coinbraggers and guests!
CoinBrag.com has been around for over 5 years now. It's amazing to me that so many have joined the site and helped contribute. The participation of everyone has kept me going trying to make the site better and better. Unfortunately I've not done much to improve the site over the past few months as I've been very busy with my growing business.
The good news is that CoinBrag is in no danger of closing or anything like that. With just a few advertisements around the site, we've earned enough money to keep the site running at it's current level and there is still room to grow.
There are two projects for CoinBrag that I've been working on that when finished will greatly improve the website. The most recent project involves creating a special way of adding a collection of coin photos I've recently acquired. There's 90,000 photos that need to be identified and sorted. That all takes time and I could not do that myself. So I'm working on a way to have the pictures online where coinbraggers could easily identify them and put them into the database with just a few clicks. As I started working on this I was considering how the current picture uploading project works and it's possible that once I have this interface worked out, we may have an easier way to upload your photos as well.
The other project I've been working on is the class system. This has been a project I've been working on for at leat a year and it is mostly coded into the site (though invisible to most of you) except that it looks ugly and all of the classes need to be entered into the site. I self taught myself web design in 1996 and continued learning while in college. The web however has changed a lot in that time so this old dog is needing to learn new tricks (or to work with those who are more up to date). Once this class system is done our site will have more information for every coin.
I keep a notebook with a "to do" list for CoinBrag and it's full of other features for the site that I'd like to implement. If there were 30 hours in a day I might be able to work on this site more. Since there's only 24 hours in a day I will just have to try and make more time for CoinBrag.
On the plus side, I've had a few different people helping write articles for our website. I hope some of you that read them are finding them interesting. If you have an article of your own you would like to share with us, please let me know. There's a few different ways to compensate those that contribute to the site either through cash, coins/coin supplies or even advertising.
Anyway, sorry for going on. I just noticed I had not done much to CoinBrag and I wanted to let you all know that I'm still here and I'm not giving up. I'm just slow.
